Services

Physiotherapy sessions start with clinical history – some of this may have already been provided by the vet, however it is always important to discuss with the owner any concerns they may have.
This is followed by a thorough assessment of the animal – first a static assessment of the animal stood square, followed by a dynamic assessment of the animal moving, and then a hands-on palpation to identify any areas of tension, heat or swelling. A range of treatments can then be provided, dependent on what needs treating – please see below for all available services.

Exercise/ Rehabilitation programmes – after assessing and treating your animal, dependent on whether the appointment is for injury, surgery or general maintenance; exercises are provided to optimise recovery, and aim to reduce re-occurrence of injury in the future.

Manual Therapies

‘Touch’ is the most natural and effective tool that physios can use, and can provide an endless amount of benefits. Using a combination of various massage techniques and stretching, several different areas can be targeted.

Electrotherapies

  • Hot and cold therapy
  • Low-level laser therapy
  • TENS
Each electrotherapy can provide various benefits, and will be used accordingly dependent on the animals requirements.

Exercises

Exercises and rehabilitation plans are tailored to each individual animal, dependent on whether they are post-injury, post-surgery or general maintenance. Exercises are used to strengthen muscle tissue and increase range of motion of joints.
